Wild Rift Champion Mastery

Each champion carries its own Mastery level from 1 to 7, earned with Mastery points. You gain points from every match you play on that champion — including the ones you lose — and the amount scales with the game mode, how long the match ran and how well you played, so A, S and S+ games are worth considerably more than a quiet loss. Riot's own wording is that the points needed roughly double at every level, which is why level 7 is a long grind rather than a weekend. From level 5 onward the points you earn just for showing up are reduced, while the points for playing well are not — past that point the grind rewards carrying, not queueing. What you get is cosmetic: the Mastery badge shown in your collection, on your profile and in matchmaking, plus an emote that unlocks at level 5 and changes art again at 6 and 7. Mastery never decays and never resets.

Champion Score is a separate number, earned only in ranked games, and it is what places you on the in-game per-champion leaderboard for your region. It rises faster when your Mastery level is high, when your rank is high, when you play the champion often and when you play Legendary Ranked. Unlike Mastery it is not permanent — it falls as well as rises and soft-resets between seasons, and your profile therefore also records the highest figure you ever reached. Patch 7.2 additionally adjusted the ceiling on how much Champion Score you can pick up outside ranked. This is also the stat behind the Legendary Queue requirement: you need an all-time-high Champion Score of 1,000 on any one champion, alongside Master rank in the current season. It is not, as several competitors claim, the sum of all your Mastery levels — with 138 champions in the game that sum cannot even reach 1,000.

Omnichamp arrived in patch 7.2 in July 2026, reworking what used to be the Master of Versatility interface. Instead of rewarding depth on a single champion it rewards breadth: you progress by reaching a given Mastery level on a number of champions across a number of lanes, and it pays out in exclusive Honor icons, with extra levels added below the old Master of Versatility milestone. Because it is built on Mastery levels across a spread of champions, it is effectively a bundle of the work described above — which is exactly why it is quoted rather than sold off a fixed price list.
