There are several types of rounds in each caliber, each with its own stats. Penetration is a bullet’s ability to penetrate body armor and helmets. To choose the best ammo, it might be wise to consider this characteristics.

There are almost 100 types and subtypes of bullets in Escape from Tarkov. With such a number Escape from Tarkov ammo types, it might be problematic for players to wrap their heads around this matter. It's not hard to see how tricky it is for new players to figure out what ammo to buy for each magazine, let alone what ammo is best suited for certain scenarios.
